T82 Fly-In, Fredericksburg

One of the Plane-Girls' first and certainly one of our best fans is our friend Karl Ritter from Fredericksburg. Karl invited us to Fredericksburg to enjoy the Saturday fly-in and help celebrate his high school's reunion, held the same evening at the Airport Conference Center by the Hangar Hotel. If you're a fan of the Plane-Girls, you already know we're big fans of the hotel, a great place to stay for pilots and anyone who needs a first rate place to RON (Rest Over Night). It was easy to say yes, but it got a little more complicated Saturday morning. Rain again. netkes The flight was May 19th
Chasity Ambre and Chasity Plane-Girls and Friends Plane-Girls
Just getting out of Austin for the short drive was challenging. Delayed two hours, the girls made their last make-up touches on the grounds of the hotel.
Show time finally (lots of flights were delayed too, so it all worked out OK)
Always good to have the Marine Corps helping out. A point of etiquette, there are no "Ex Marines". "Former Marines" is OK, but once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi, Mac, thanks for coming out.
The best part of being a Plane-Girl is meeting extraordinary people. Kim Slawinski flies the Yak-52 in the background. Real women really fly. ex

Yak-52 Navion CJ-6 Air Force
Terry Slawinski checks the Yak for water ingress after a passing shower.
The hotels' Navion, a classic from the '50s. Not as fast as Beech's Bonanza, it was one of the early high performance 4 place singles.
Parking can be tight on the show line. Joe Ensminger wrestles his CJ-6 into its slot, with a little help from his friends.
This is the real reason the Plane-Girls are here. No, not the good looking guys, but for the next generation of aviators.

Ambre and Bianca Real Heroes Ramp Boss Announcer
We met Bianca after the show. She couldn't make it out to the field, but ran outside and looked up for every low pass and fly by. A Plane-Girl in training.
A Fly-In, even a small one, takes a lot of coordination and behind the scenes work. We hope we never need them, but we're really glad the firefighters are here. Thanks guys, you're aces with us.
The Ramp Boss keeps 'em organized. The pilot is in charge upstairs, but on the ground, the Boss's word is law.
The announcer keeps up a running commentary, ensuring that everyone is informed and entertained. But safety is always first, he's another set of eyes, keeping everyone safe so they can have fun.
Wardrobe Malfunction Ambre Chasity Waiting
The Plane-Girls' signature white flight suits are comfortable in the air and attractive on the ground. But they're not good in the rain. Or with BBQ sauce.
Ambre waiting out the rain in the shelter of the Airport Diner.
Chasity checks the weather from the Airport Diner. We recommend the Bomber Burger.
Still raining, so a quick chess game in the Officer's Club at the Hangar Hotel .

Biker Girls (not really!) Rockin' at Primeaux'
The Reunion was in the Airport Conference Center, where a lot of great vehicles are on display, including a custom touring bike.
And we had to stop in to visit our friends at Primeaux' a little late night club off the square. Live music, great atmosphere, and good friends.
